PNW Mountain Bike Hype

As many of you know, Healey’s mountain bike was stolen on our way across the country. Well, Healey just picked up a sweet “new to her” rig. Since then, she has had all of the new bike hype.

The single track out here has been unreal. Almost every time we ride nowadays it’s comparable to some of the best places we have ever rode. We have been going absolutely insane with how much fun it is. While truthfully, we never take enough photos and never record on the GoPro enough, it’s truly felt like we’re “spoiled” to have all of these beautiful trails and scenery within a day trip.

Riding out here in the PNW you have such an insane amount of options and it seems like we just never have enough time. We have been simply trying to ride as far as we can at as many places as we can as we check locations off our ever-growing MTB bucket list. We know rain season is coming, the days are getting shorter, higher elevations are going to get snow, and that we both have full time jobs. We’ve been finding more and more groups to ride with and going nuts trying to find more time in the day to ride more.

Currently our list is short but here’s a couple of the places we’ve had the pleasure of riding: Capitol Forest is one of our closest major trail systems. Sub Black Hills is super close to us and is a new trail system that is currently still being developed.  North of us, along the I-90 corridor we’ve ridden Tiger Mountain, Olallie, Grand Ridge and Raging River. We had a day to check out Yacolt Burn which is just south of us and has great views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier. While there’s tons more riding spots on our list, these have all been within 70 miles of us and easy to day trip.
